At Little Hearts Nursery, our dedicated team tailors activities to suit each child’s unique needs, ensuring they feel supported and valued as they grow. We believe strongly in working closely with parents and carers, encouraging open communication and shared routines to nurture confident, happy children who feel secure both at home and in the nursery setting.

Our nursery maintains high adult-to-child ratios to ensure each child receives the attention they deserve. In our baby rooms, we have a minimum ratio of 1:3, in toddler rooms 1:5, and in preschool rooms 1:8. We also staff above these minimum requirements, so additional adults are often on hand to provide extra support, enriching the children’s learning experiences and fostering a calm, caring environment.

Our Commitment to the EYFS Framework

At Little Hearts Nursery, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, a nationally recognized approach designed to support children from birth to five years old. The EYFS framework places play at the heart of children’s learning, recognizing it as a critical aspect of their development. This framework also includes essential legal welfare requirements that everyone registered to care for children must meet to ensure their safety and well-being.

The EYFS framework guides our planning and practice through its focus on:

  • The 7 Areas of Learning and Development: These areas guide us in creating engaging activities that help children develop new skills and acquire knowledge as they grow.
  • Regular Assessments: We conduct assessments to keep you informed about your child’s progress, celebrating milestones and working together on areas needing support.
  • Early Learning Goals (ELGs): By age five, children are encouraged to reach specific developmental goals, known as the Early Learning Goals, which set the foundation for their transition to primary school.

At Little Hearts Nursery, we are dedicated to creating a supportive, inclusive environment where every child can thrive, guided by our professional team and the EYFS framework. We look forward to partnering with you in your child’s early education journey.
